Peru Introduction: 25 Dec - 1 Jan 06

Just some quick highlights of our trip...mostly, in fact, all, pictures of us. Hey, I've got 2440 pictures to go through and clean up...this is gonna take a while. And no, you are not going to see them all! That's okay, most are crap....I gotta learn to hold a freakin' camera still! Anyway, here's a start...enjoy! -- Derek


Here we are on the Amazon river, having a great start to our adventure!



Here is Donna figuring out where in the world we are! We'd arrived at one of the jungle lodges and there was a giant map of Peru on the wall, so of course, we had to look at it and "find ourselves" on it, which Donna did straightaway!

This one is Donna and one of the Piranha she caught and had for dinner...just a little comparison of dental work, is all! I think in this case, she wins!

This is Derek and Donna with a Kukuchu, or Honey Bear. Very friendly little critter, we would love to have brought him home with us!

Here we are while out on a hike through the woods. We thought it was too perfect an opportunity for fooling around to pass up, and someone happened to have a camera.

The intrepid photographer, snapping away at the Amazon Rainforest from over 100 feet up on the canopy walkway! Talk about great views and angles!

Now that the photos are taken, it's time to come up to platform #6!

Finally, on a visit to a local Yagua village, Donna made friends with the local children...ALL of them! This is just a small group of her dozens of followers. She was certainly a hit! I'm sure the many packs of gum she had to hand out didn't hurt her popularity any!

Okay, that's it for now.....hopefully, over the coming weeks, work depending, I'll be able to slowly add more photo highlights. Perhaps they'll be in subject grouping...plants one week, animals the next, and so on and so on. We'll see.
